Who we are
Changing Young Lives Inc is a registered not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping Cairns’ most vulnerable youth gain the life skills, confidence, and support they need to change their future today.
We noticed a gap with too many young people being judged instead of understood, and families struggling without the right tools or guidance. That’s why we built Our Hub Cairns. A safe, community driven space designed for young children and teens to learn, grow and reconnect through education, mentoring and practical life skills.
Our Hub isn’t just a drop-in centre, it’s a launchpad for new beginnings. We work hands-on with youth aged 9 to 18, focusing on those who’ve fallen through the cracks, young people who deserve to be seen, heard and supported.
Here, they find mentors who listen, programs that build confidence and opportunities to rebuild their sense of purpose. Parents are also part of the journey. Through our in-home family support programs, we help families strengthen their relationships and create stability at home.
When sponsors and community partners get behind us, they’re helping rewrite the story for an entire generation. Because at Changing Young Lives Inc, we believe everyone deserves a chance — and together, we can make a difference.

Our purpose
Our Hub exists to fill the gap for young people who’ve been left behind by the system. Too often, locals talk about the youth rather than to them.
We believe everyone deserves a chance and by that we mean, a chance to be heard, to be guided and to change their story.
Our mission is to create a safe, supportive environment where core repeat offenders and at risk youth can find stability, mentorship and belonging.
Our space is also where parents can come to learn how to help their children, offering in home family support programs, education and practical tools for positive change.
Together we can make a difference.
THE VISION
To see youth crime in Far North Queensland reduced to a point where places like ours are no longer needed.
In five years, we aim for the young people who come through our doors to become mentors themselves. Leading programs, guiding others, and proving that change is possible.

Our mission is simple, to change the story for young people in Far North Queensland.
At Changing Young Lives Inc and Our Hub Cairns, we believe everyone deserves a chance. Many of our local kids have faced tough starts in life, but with the right support, guidance and community behind them, they can rebuild their confidence and find their purpose again.
We’re here to provide a safe, supportive space where youth can learn real-life skills, find mentors who genuinely care, and take steps toward a stronger future. Whether it’s learning to cook, building work skills, completing courses, or simply having someone to talk to, we meet every young person where they are — and help them move forward.
We also work with parents through in-home family support programs that strengthen connections, restore trust, and build understanding between families.
Our mission is to make sure no young person feels forgotten, no parent feels alone and no community ever stops believing in its youth. Together we can make a difference — one young life at a time.
