Our Hub Cairns was created out of frustration, hope, and a deep love for our community. After years of watching young people fall through the cracks and seeing program after program fail to create lasting change, local crime campaigner Perri Conti decided enough was enough.

As a victim of crime herself, Perri saw both sides of the issue — the pain caused and the pain behind it. She recognised that lasting change doesn’t come from punishment alone, but from understanding, support and opportunity. When no one else was willing to take the first step, she did.

With no government funding and no red tape, Perri pooled her own resources to build a place where real conversations and real change could begin. Our Hub Cairns was born. A common-sense, community-led response to youth disengagement and crime in Far North Queensland.

What started as a simple vision has grown into a thriving community space where young people can learn to cook, complete courses, gain work experience, and rediscover their self-worth.. one skill at a time.

The hub stands as proof that when a community refuses to give up on its youth, change happens. Together we can make a difference, because everyone deserves a chance.
